Team Nourish Morning Routine: Carrie

It's never too early for some self-care. The team at Nourish are big on self-care (in case you hadn't noticed!) and for many of us it starts from the moment we wake up with our morning routines. In this new series, each of our team members will take you through their morning routine in the hope it inspires you to create one of your own.

Name: Carrie

Role: Sales & E-Commerce Manager

What time do you wake up in the morning?

I’m not a morning person but usually between 7-8:30am.

What is the first thing you do when you wake up?

Check my phone. 😬

Guide us through the rest of your morning routine:

There’s no specific time since I wake up at random times in the morning, but on a weekday:

  1. I will always start by making coffee (as “Starbucks-y” as I can make it at home).
  2. Then check my emails and daily planner and try to get the hardest tasks of the day out of the way.
  3. Do a quick daytime skin routine. I’ve been really into that Gua Sha trend that's all over TikTok.
  4. I’ll make a quick breakfast, usually scrambled eggs sprinkled with pecorino cheese and a side of fruit.

How do you nourish your mind, body and soul in the morning?

The pandemic (and WFH) really gave me an opportunity to enjoy my morning routine without the hustle and bustle of quickly getting ready, fighting traffic, and making it to the office. I find that now when I take the time to enjoy each of my morning routine steps listed above, I feel mentally and physically better. Before 2020, I would never have time to start my day right.

Talk us through your morning skincare routine.

Since my face isn’t as dirty in the morning compared to night, I like to use a cleansing oil or cleansing cream and I skip the double cleanse so I don’t dry out my face. I love a Vitamin C serum in the morning too, followed by a face cream and then a gua sha tool to help depuff my face.

What is your must-have skincare product?

This is a hard question because there are so many! Hmm.. I’d say a good quality serum for your skin type/concern. I love the Monastery Flora Cream Serum especially in the morning cause it’s lightweight and is like a 2-in-1 serum and moisturizer.

What is the one thing you must do every morning that sets you up for the day ahead?

My boyfriend and I have to hug and kiss each other before he leaves in the morning for work.

How long have you stuck to your morning routine and why is it so important to you?

Since the pandemic started in 2020. I think starting your day on a positive note and feeling good will set the tone for the rest of your day. And if you still have a bad day, try sweating it out with a good workout - that usually makes me feel better because exercise gives you endorphins, and endorphins make you happy, and... well, you know the rest of the Legally Blond line (lol).
