Giving Back On International Women's Day

International Women's Day

Supporting women's health and wellness is at the core of everything we do at Nourish Clean Beauty.

This International Women's Day (IWD) we chose to partner BC Women's Health Foundation (BCWHF), BC's largest non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the full spectrum of women’s health.

In support of this incredible organization and in honour of IWD Nourish Clean Beauty will #ChooseToChallenge women's health inequities by donating 10% of our proceeds from March 1 2021 to May 31 2021 to BCWHF.

Women’s health has historically been sidelined, mostly because it was assumed that it was the same as men’s health. The male body was used as the baseline for all health research, education and, from there, practice. In other words, if we knew something about the biology of men, we assumed that the same applied to women.  All gendered research today tells us this was absolutely wrong.

Our society has yet to prioritize understanding why women’s bodies are different. Without adequate research, doctors are not equipped. Without adequate education, the unique healthcare needs of women are not validated. And this is where BCWHF comes in.

They are dedicated to ensuring women have equitable access to the highest quality healthcare when, where, and how they need it. They work in 4 key areas:

  • Capital + Equipment: BCWHF invests in facilities, equipment and programs at BC Women's Hospital to match their world-class model of care.

  • Research: They ensure women and their health needs are validated through the funding of solutions-focused research and innovation at the Women's Health Research Institute.

  • Education + Awareness: They facilitate discussion to help women understand how their bodies are different, how to advocate for themselves, and how to navigate the healthcare system.

  • Advocacy: They galvanize voices to inspire government and stakeholders to facilitate transformational investment in equitable healthcare and research, allowing for change in policy and practice.
